ASOM - Ep 60 - Matt Niswander - Niswander Farms

  • Nov 15, 2020
Greetings and welcome to part 3 of our November series featuring men's mental health. Today, we speak with my friend Matt Niswander. Matt has found the sweet spot of where agriculture and medicine intersect. Matt is a Family Nurse Practitioner in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. He recently opened up his own clinic to serve that rural community. Matt is also a first generation farmer. He has an incredible story of how he learned to farm from YouTube. He now raises cattle for direct to consumer sales with his wife and 3 children. As remarkable as all of that is, it's nothing compared to the story of how Matt overcame poverty and being raised in a less than ideal home. You guys will not want to miss this episode!! https://agstateofmind.com/2020/11/15/ag-state-of-mind-ep-60-matt-niswander/

Episode 062 - Angela Dwyer and the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies

  • Nov 12, 2020
We're excited to be joined this week by Angela Dwyer, Habitat Coordinator with the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies. Angela's work often intersects with the farming and ranching communities, and sees huge opportunities for collaboration between seemingly disparate communities. She says the most important thing is making sure that all stakeholders, not just the loudest ones, are at the tables during discussions about policy that have ripple effects in directions that might not otherwise be considered. This is a great episode with a great guest, taking a closer look at a side of agriculture that isn't often considered. You can find Angela and more information about the Bird Conservancy at https://www.birdconservancy.org/ Follow Millennial Ag online: www.millennialag.com www.facebook.com/millennialag www.instagram.com/millennial_ag www.twitter.com/millennial_ag
